The product is untreated and can be cut, sanded, stained, painted etc. They are excellent for a wide range of uses and are suitable for use with food.
Please note that the length can vary by the odd millimetre either way though tbh they very rarely do. Birch wood is a natural material and may have some marks, knocks, and blemishes, the colour can vary and the odd dowel may have minor signs of warp but can normally be teased back straight.
A picture of our new 40mm dowels is shown on the listing. We only do the 40mm dowels in 600mm lengths
*Note the 25mm and 40mm dowels, which can have some mild warp may be difficult to straighten. Wood is a natural product and the production of thick dowels down the grain of the wood leaves them prone to this issue. We do not ship any obviously warped dowels and do check them, but in larger orders the some dowels may have minor warp.
The size(diameter) of each dowel is the maximum size and can be very slightly smaller as a result of the manufacturing tolerance.
