SP201 Acrylic Polymer Casting Plaster Strengthener and Waterproofer

Create stunning effects and significantly stronger casts by using SP201 Acrylic Polymer within the mix prior to casting. This product also makes casts water resistant excellent for casts that are for outdoor use.

When used with liquid dye products or acrylic paints SP201 can produce excellent colour composites and having the base colour right through the cast has obvious advantages in that the item can be carved and any slight damage will be less noticeable.

The product needs to be diluted, typically 1 part polymer to 4 parts water as a strengthener, and 1 part polymer to 5 parts water to give casts a water resistance. How much you require depends on use but as a rough guide a 250ml bottle would treat around 2kg of plaster. *Note when using the polymer less water is required as it lowers the surface tension enabling a denser cast.  It is possible when striving for that perfect cast (such as when making chess pieces) to double or even treble the quantities used
